The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
