Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests indicate the fluid was likely human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior representative commented the attack left him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
